The Dallas/Fort Worth area offers visitors a chance to taste Texas up close and personally, with a wide range of ranch adventures including trail rides, campfire cookouts, singing cowboys, haywagons and more. While many of the Dallas/Fort Worth area ranches specialize in group activities, several also have opportunities for individual travelers. (Individual traveler options are noted. Most require reservations in advance.)

This magnificent 3200-acre spread marries the charm of the true west with contemporary beauty and convenience. The Old Chisholm Trail runs right through the middle of the ranch, which is not a dude-wrangling operation but a working ranch with 2000 head of cattle, horse breeding stock and a dozen full-time ranch hands. The site features two 20,000-square-foot barns for a variety of special events. Beaumont Ranch is conveniently located off I-35W at exit 15 in Grandview, TX.
FOR INDIVIDUAL TRAVELERS: Individual trail rides and riding lessons are available, but reservations are necessary. Saturday mornings in October and November also feature a public Chuck Wagon Breakfast, which includes an hour-long rail ride and a cookout of a hearty ranch breakfast; space is limited and reservations are necessary.

The Rockin' River Ranch is located at Frisco Horse Park, where the Shawnee Trail was traveled over 100 years ago. The Rockin' River offers trail rides, hayrides, summer day camps, riding lessons, training, boarding, a petting zoon, fishing, bonfires, paddle boats and a young wranglers program.
