Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, a small suburban home in Irving, Texas, and those living there were caught up in the whirlwind surrounding the tragedy. Half a century later, the historic home has been restored to its 1963 look and opened as a multimedia museum to tell the story of the events that occurred there. The Heritage House is located in the beautiful Irving Heritage District and is open for public tours from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month. So, guess what this Sunday is? It's tour day! Pack up the family and head to this beautiful house fashioned in early 20th century decor. The quaint home is a sight to see, and you'll feel right at home on the front porch in a rocking chair. The Heritage House is a recorded Texas historic landmark and was built in 1912. Looking for something a little different to do on a Friday night? Take a trip to the the South Irving Library to hear ghost stories. Join author Mitchel Whitington as he presents stories and photos from haunted locations around the Lone Star State. Whitington, owner of The Grove, a haunted house in Jefferson, Texas, will explore places you can visit for a ghostly good time! His books Ghosts of East Texas and The Light at the Top of the Mountain: Ghosts in the Bible will be available for purchase, and a book signing will follow the presentation. Learn More
