"DRAWING STORIES: THE PICTURES BOOK ART OF MARLA FRAZEE"

Location: Irving Arts Center

This retrospective includes over 80 illustrations spanning 15 years. Marla Frazee is a Caldecott Honor winner for All the World and A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever. Frazee has said that as soon as she could read and write, she made little tiny books and stapled them together. Her whimsical drawings are also featured in several books she has written, including Roller Coaster, Walk On!, Santa Claus the World’s Number One Toy Expert and The Boss Baby. She has illustrated many other books including The Seven Silly Eaters, Stars, and the New York Times bestselling Clementine series.

RUTH PAINE HOUSE MUSEUM

Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, a small suburban home in Irving, Texas, and those living there were caught up in the whirlwind surrounding the tragedy. Half a century later, the historic home has been restored to its 1963 look and opened as a multimedia museum to tell the story of the events that occurred there. Today, visitors can step back in time and see the the home as it was that day in 1963. Come take a glimpse at history and enjoy a tour. Learn More

Save the date and order your tickets this weekend, cause there's a limited number available. You won't want to miss this event next Saturday! The Texas Musicians Museum, the premier conservatory of Texas music history, will open in Irving on July 25th. The TMM's new location at 222 E. Irving Blvd is located downtown in the city's historical Heritage Crossing District, just a short walk from the TRE station.

Tickets for the day are available at the museum's website www.TMMTexas.com and include a look at the unique museum displays, as well as admission into the outdoor music garden.

Join the TMM as Texas celebrates with a BIG Opening Party from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, July 25 .
