More Country with Chicken Fried Steak

Mike Stanley Band

Location: The Ranch at Las Colinas, 857 W. John Carpenter Freeway 75039
Price: No Cover Charge
When: Friday, August 12:  8 p.m.

The Mike Stanley Band is fairly new to The Ranch, but they’ve been old friends forever.  Their eclectic musical backgrounds come together sounding like the farthest thing from Texas country music . . . but somehow, it’s still Texas country.  It’s a unique sound that you’ve just gotta hear.  Learn More

Chicken Fried Steak, and more

Location: The Ranch at Las Colinas, 857 W. John Carpenter Freeway 75039

No need to make reservations for this staycation, and the dinners are awesome!  We have a family tradition that no matter where we’re traveling in the US, we order a chicken fried steak and compare it to those found in Texas.  Not only do other states pale in comparison to our special plate of fried beef, but I think The Ranch cooks it up the best.  Good gravy look at this!  Learn More

Great Italian Food and Gondolas

Mouthwatering Italian Food

Location: i Fratelli Ristorante and Wine Bar, 7701 N. MacArthur Blvd. 75063
When: Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Grab a little piece of Italy right here in Irving . . . or grab a big piece, it’s all good.   I Fratelli Ristorante and Wine Bar has been in Irving since they turned the lights on, and this family-owned restaurant has been serving up great Italian food ever since.   Although they were voted the King of (Pizza) Pies, their menu offers far more than pizza with corners. My favorite dish is the Steak Tips Gorgonzola, but you’ll have to visit and decide for yourself.  Learn More

Gondola Adventures

Location: 357 W. Fork 75039
When: All gondola cruises are based on reservation and availability

While you’re in the Italian mood, hop on over to Lake Carolyn.  Unless you’ve cruised through the hidden inlets of the Mandalay Canals with their refreshing waterfalls, you haven’t experienced Las Colinas’s most hidden gem.  Your Gondolier even sings or plays romantic Italian music.  I hear it’s a tradition to kiss under every bridge, so be sure to bring your loved one.    Learn More
