10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Join us for the 59th Jamboree-on-the-Air at the National Scouting Museum! All attendees receive a 2016 JOTA at the National Scouting Museum commemorative patch (while supplies last). Refreshments will be served all day. Jamboree-on-the-Air , or JOTA, is the largest Scouting event in the world! During JOTA, Scouts use amateur radio to connect with other Scouts and ham radio operators from around the world, around the nation, and in their own communities! JOTA at the National Scouting Museum is an extraordinary JOTA event where Scouts and kids of ages get to work with amateur radio experts from the Irving Amateur Radio Club , Dallas Amateur Radio Club and others. There will be more than seven contact stations, including; HF, UHF, and VHF stations, a satellite radio station, a repeater, basic electronics demonstrations, a Morse code station, an internet radio station (JOTI), fox hunts, and much, much more! Webelos Scouts have the opportunity to complete Arrow of Light Adventure: Building a Better World requirement 10d by attending JOTA 2016 at the museum! Anyone working to earn the International Spirit Award can complete the requirement of participating in JOTA or JOTI. Museum admission will FREE from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Ocotober 15, 2016.
