Large, abstract acrylic paintings by Irving based artist and retired architect, Robert Batson. Inspired by textiles from the Southwest, Central America and South America and painted with a technique of drips, dribbles, quick brush strokes and lines, the paintings evoke the design, colors, patterns and textures of these indigenous weavings. Also included in the exhibit will be selected colored pencil drawings from Robert’s travels in New Mexico, Guatemala and Peru.
