When you have been driving around the Metroplex all week long, aren't you glad that on the weekends we have so many things to do and see right here in Irving?  Without further adieu, let's check out what's going on around here this weekend.

This is just in and we (and I, the foodie person that I am) are super pumped to hear that even more great restaurants are ready to feed us! The Toyota Music Factory, who so far has several concepts open including Bar Louie, Thirsty Lion Gastro Pub and Freshii are ready to give the people more food to fill our bellies.

Not sure about you, but I'm totally digging that our backyard keeps expanding. Adding to the latest lineup of culinary experiences is:

New Year, New You?

Friday, December 29, 2017 2:00 PM by Carol Stoddard

Are you feeling the urge to self-inventory and create a "new you" list for 2018?  Here's a suggestion, take time to get out and have fun! If it's permission you're looking for, then I freely give it.  If it's the ability to carve out extra time, then you're on your own. I struggle with that too. But don't you hate that feeling of finding out after the fact there was something fantastic going on right in your own backyard, and you missed it?  That, I can help you with. Check out these events below or visit our website for more - www.irvingtexas.com. Be sure to tag us on those photos!  #VisitIrving  And don't forget to bundle up 'cause baby it's cold (and possibly icy) out there.

During the holidays, it seems like there's a song in my heart all the time.  Joy fills the air from shiny lamp post decorations to the brisk chilly weather to the songs of the season.  Around here, we don't have to go far to find a wide array of live music.  In fact, I've lined them up here for you.  And remember, you can always find more at www.irvingtexas.com

It's a Home Town Holiday Weekend

Thursday, November 30, 2017 1:00 PM by Carol Stoddard

It's that most wonderful time of the year. We've got chili pots cooking, and people parading, and lights on the tree.  Irving's the hap, happiest place to be.

I hope the season's festivities call to you like they do to me.  I want to drink cocoa, trim the tree, go shopping, and soak up this great weather.  Please join me and your neighbors this weekend at the Historic District of Irving where there's plenty of Christmas joy to go around. I hear the parade this year is about twice as long as before, and you know what that means . . . more candy!  And "You-Know-Who" might make an appearance too. Be sure to tag us on any photos you take. #VisitIrving

Friday, November 17, 2017 11:00 AM

This is my favorite time of year - family coming to visit, the smell of a distant chimney, cheering for your favorite football team, and just getting outdoors. We have SO many reasons to be thankful. While you are rushing around preparing for Thanksgiving, why not check out these events? And be sure to visit our new website at www.IrvingTexas.com.

Mandalay Canal

Lined with old-world architecture and Venice-inspired style, this charming enclave of restaurants and shops was designed to reflect Irving’s native setting of waterfalls and streams. The canal was created to connect to Lake Carolyn, where you can rent a paddleboard or join an intimate cruise. Stroll along cobblestone pathways and explore Irving’s little slice
