The Westin at the Irving Convention Center is the newest hotel in close proximity to Irving's Entertainment District, which houses fabulous recreation, dining, and of course concerts. This makes it a prime location, plus a destination to keep you entertained and coming back for more. Staycationing in Irving is so ideal, it offers so many great hotels and many fun attractions. I can't wait to tell you all about our stay at the beautiful Westin in Las Colinas.  

Half the fun of doing a gas station taco blog is the hunt. Some of the best tacos are waiting to be found tucked away at a fuel stop, off the side of the road. The best way to usually find these gems is by asking others in the area if they know of a such-and-such a place and of course searching Yelp and Google for amazing gas station taquerias. The State Fair of Texas only comes around once a year, making it a tough task to get your fix of fried foods and oversized portions in just a month. Fear not, because these Irving dishes are served up year-round!  From a Nepali Sausage on a stick to an oversized soft pretzel dipped in beer fondue, we’ve hunted down the most satisfying and crave-worthy Fair fare for you to enjoy. 

 

Cinco de Mayo is an American-Mexican celebration held on May 5th to commemorate Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla. Basically, they kicked Napoleon’s nephew and his army out of the country, thereby defeating a brief attempt at colonialism. And it's a perfect reason to celebrate! So whether Cinco de Mayo introduces your palate to that glorious cuisine from south of the border, or you’ve enjoyed Mexican food and TexMex all your life, celebrating this holiday has become a wonderful tradition for everyone here in Texas!
