Cinco de Mayo is an American-Mexican celebration held on May 5th to commemorate Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla. Basically, they kicked Napoleon’s nephew and his army out of the country, thereby defeating a brief attempt at colonialism. And it's a perfect reason to celebrate! So whether Cinco de Mayo introduces your palate to that glorious cuisine from south of the border, or you’ve enjoyed Mexican food and TexMex all your life, celebrating this holiday has become a wonderful tradition for everyone here in Texas!
