I once read that “Motherhood is powered by love, fueled by coffee, and sustained by wine.” This quote got me to chuckling, but I don’t think it’s entirely true. We moms run on so many other awesome things that we might not always get, but we love so dearly like mani-pedis, chocolate, movies, and late-night Netflix binge when everyone else is asleep. So to celebrate Mother’s Day this year, we’ve put together a fun itinerary, featuring some of the things mentioned above, for moms to make the most of the holiday in Irving.

The originator of the National Empanada Day might be unknown, but we’re glad it was invented because we’ll take any excuse to eat these folded pastries – baked or fried – any day! With its famously diverse food scene, the city of Irving prides itself as one of the best, if not THE ultimate destination for empanadas in DFW, with two empanaderias topping online charts and reviews for more than 5 years and counting! Without further ado, here they are!

Happy National Margarita Day (February 22)!! The zesty lime juice, the bite from a good tequila, and a hint of sweetness from Grand Marnier or Agave nectar – Oh who doesn’t like a good glass of this classic Mexican cocktail? We know we do! And for that reason, we are sharing some of the best places to get margaritas around Irving, today and any day!

One of the best things about living in America is the fact that we have so many “food holidays” throughout the calendar year, one of which is today, the National Pizza Pie Day! Deep Dish or New York Style, thin-crust or stuffed crust – these glorious pies are a staple in the global culinary scene, including in Irving, one of the country’s most diverse cities. Read along to find out about some of the best places to get delicious pizzas around town.

We don’t usually celebrate Valentine’s Day, because well…I’m just not into anything cheesy and lovey-dovey like that (ever since I was a teenager, true story!). So when I noticed that Valentine’s Day was like 2 weeks away from last weekend, I thought, hey, why not do a little staycation around my city of Las Colinas and have a little getaway with my little family. Any excuse to have a little getaway, right?

As we’re going deep into spring, when rainy days, flowers, and allergies seem to be taking place almost simultaneously, the idea of doing a Spring Cleaning came to my mind. Not just my house or my closet, but my body too! So when I saw that the new health-conscious restaurant at the Toyota Music Factory complex called Freshii is offering a 1 (Quickie), 3 (Determined), and 5-day (Focused) juice cleanse package, I decided to try it!

As we go deeper into the summer, any excuse makes a great excuse to savor the sweet, refreshing, and creamy deliciousness that is an ice cream. And you know what’s cool? The whole month of July happens to be National Ice Cream Month! So read along and get ready to stuff your face with some of the city’s best ice cream treats. Don’t worry, we won’t judge. Calories don’t count when you’re happy, right? ;)

Created to be the lighter, more cheerful alternative to Sunday dinner, brunch has been embraced by the American society for more than 70 years. How can we not embrace it? The buffet, the eggs, the pastries, and mimosas! Oh…we can hardly wait for Sunday! Well in the meantime, allow us to list down some of our favorite brunch spots in Irving to get you inspired.
