Texas may be known for ribeyes, tacos and BBQ joints, and in Irving, those culinary traditions don’t disappoint. But in this city, rich with diversity and creativity, there are some sensational Japanese eateries where uber-fresh fish is the sought-after dish. Don’t worry, we’re not finding Nemo in the waterways of Las Colinas for your dining delight, but you might find Maki or Toro shipped straight from the ocean direct to your plate due to our landlocked locale in the Lone Star State.

And you should know that brisket is hardly limited to barbecue. Tender, juicy, smoky brisket is fabulous served on a platter or sliced in a sammy with sauce and pickles, but it is equally as delicious in Mexican, Argentinian and Asian dishes. In my

But once you lace up your sneakers and get going, you will immediately begin reaping health benefits and less tangible bonus benefits that will likely make you fall in love with the sport. Am I right, running veterans?

The food scene in Irving is an unexpected array of almost every cuisine, with chefs creating globally influenced dishes, Southern comfort and soul foods, quintessential Texas faves, haute cuisine, Cajun cooking, fusion-food mashups and good ole American fare, like a juicy cheeseburger with fries. However, today we’re exploring elevated dining experiences because, within this bounty of restaurant riche in Irving, some chefs create dishes and experiences that are so delicious and so completely perfect and unforgettable, that they should be on every local and visitor’s wish list.

Seriously, there’s no “paid time off” for being a mom - especially after a year of parenting during a global pandemic - a year when Mum has not been just a parent, but a teacher, chef, housekeeper, coach, activity director, entertainer, referee, and so on.
