“I should clarify that anyone who goes onstage and makes strangers laugh is insane. So ... I am insane.” -- Jim Gaffigan

Actually, insanity describes the crazy amount of talent that's visiting Irving this month. Take some Reggae Pop, Latin Pop, Country and Hip-Hop, add some R & B, Rap, a couple of comedians and Heavy Metal, and you've got the August line-up at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Not to mention there's a wide swath of local talent performing almost every night of the week here in Irving. Summer sizzles with exciting activities! Here are our top five favorites below. Check these out ...

Summer is in full-swing, COVID-19 restrictions have been loosened and many people are taking advantage of the opportunity to travel again. We all love when we find the time to ‘get away from it all' – whether it's a trip to a spa resort or toasting our bodies on a crowded beach. But for some, the expense of a vacation is prohibitive, and for others with work and family commitments, it can be difficult to find the time to sneak away - even for just a weekend. Then when we do find time, there’s planning to be done, sitters to arrange, pups to

I Dip, You Dip, We Sip - Poolside Cocktails

Nothing says summer staycay / vacay quite like pool time. Especially in Texas!  And if there’s anything better than relaxing in the sun next to a sparkling body of water, it’s doing so while being spoiled with a frosty summer cocktail in hand. Five Las Colinas hotels get my vote for the best poolside drinking (and dining) in Irving this summer. Just how cool is each pool? Read on to choose your vibe.

Hot Fun with July Events in Irving

Thursday, July 1, 2021 12:00 PM by Carol Stoddard

With summer travel plans in hand, we're ready to embark on destinations unknown for a fun-filled July. For those wanderers whose travel plans include Irving, or Irvingites who are looking to stay close to home, there is some firecracker hot fun to be found around town.

This month, we are excited to announce that Bill Maher, Koe Wetzel, Sebastian Maniscalco, Lindsey Stirling and 3 Doors Down are all coming to The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. There's also a long list of local live music performers around town. And it wouldn't be July in America without an Independence Day parade and fireworks display, which are LIVE this year!

Whether you like the outdoors, a small indoor gathering with friends or a fulfilling night on the town, come to Irving and experience it all. Take in the night life complete with live music, enjoy some weekend funget outdoors, visit the arts, or see what's going on at the Irving Convention Center, it's all waiting for you to explore.

Get Your Om on in Irving

Tuesday, June 8, 2021 11:00 AM by Lori Sirmen

I am not a regular practicing yogi, but there are definitely things that I like about yoga - take, for example, the pants! Yoga pants are practical fashion for everyday wear, perfect for running errands, walking the dog and zooming from your home office. I also find that yoga helps me calm down from the agonizing stress of trying to get to yoga class on time and that I really enjoy the feeling of being heavily meditated after I’ve spent 45 minutes twisting into challenging poses and trying not to tumble over or giggle. And God knows I could do with more om and bit less nom.

Summer, sweet summer! It's time for travel and exploring new places, for staying out late and sleeping in, for booking every minute of your day with fun or just relaxing by the pool. It's time to basically put some joy into your June.

This month we are excited to announce the return of two major events - ZestFest at the Irving Convention Center on June 4-6 and Texas Summer Jam III at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory on June 26. Also, you're invited to take part in the inaugural Irving Olympic Day on June 25-26.

Olympic Day Run for All & All for Run

Let’s talk about running! It might just be the antidote to all the diverse dining in Irving that I typically write about. While Irving does have quite the scene for all you hungry foodies, it also has all the ingredients for an active lifestyle that make it easy for foodies and fitness fanatics alike to make health and wellness a priority.
