Thirsty Lion Gastropub
350 Las Colinas Blvd W | (214) 496-0400
Thirsty Lion Gastropub has an incredible menu that makes it a great option when dining with a group or just wanting to try new food items. Along with their dining menu, the cocktail menu is just as impressive. While you can't go wrong with any of their signature cocktails, one of my favorite things about Thirsty Lion is their special seasonal drink list that supports a national or local charity. While these drink specials don't last long, they are delicious and help with a good cause. Ask your server or bartender what is currently available on the donation drink list and you will not be disappointed with these creative sips.

When looking for the best selection of tequila and mezcal in Irving, Hugo’s Invitados is the place to go. With their fresh, modern Mexican dishes, you can expect delicious and refreshing cocktails made with high-quality ingredients. Between a library of elixirs and an array of fresh purees, peppers, and agave for natural sweetness, the bartender is ready to create one of the best cocktails you'll find in Irving. Their cocktail menu almost resembles a juice bar and you definitely can't go wrong with any of their menu items, but don’t be afraid to create your own unique drink with their incredible selections of liquors. If you want to keep the traditional flavors of Mexico, go for one of their tequilas or mezcals. The main difference between the two is that tequila is made from blue agave and comes from the state of Jalisco, while mezcal is made from any agave variation in several states of Mexico. Mezcal often has a smoky flavor that is acquired during production when the piñas are roasted underground. Mezcal works great as a replacement when cocktails call for tequila, so get creative and you just may discover a new favorite drink.

As you can imagine, Whiskey Cake is a great spot in Irving to enjoy a cocktail. Between their creative drink menu, a huge library of whiskeys from around the world and delicious foods, you'll be here all day long. I love how Whiskey Cake encourages you to try different whiskeys and bourbons to discover your favorite regions and brands. You can get any of their liquors as a tasting flight, then once you find one you like, create a delicious cocktail with home grown local ingredients, some even coming from their own garden on the property.

One of my favorite spots to enjoy a handcrafted cocktail is at OUTLAW Taproom. You can always find something new, seasonal and creative. The bartenders are forever having fun with tasty combinations, like this raspberry jalapeno margarita! While their cocktail menu is always delicious and fun, you will sometimes catch the bartenders working their magic with an off menu drink. Be sure to always ask if there are any special drinks to try or create your own with the help of their expansive liquor library.
