French fries in all of their crispy, golden glory are delicious enough on their own, but these restaurants upgrade the classic snack by adding innovative toppings and delectable dipping sauces.

Visit these Irving destinations for lavishly loaded fries, potatoes smothered in melted cheesy goodness and loaded with kimchi, chili, and just the right amount of spices.

LA Burger

Who would have thought that kimchi topped fries would be so good?  Honestly, there hasn't been one thing I was disappointed with on the menu. This unique eatery combines American classics with Korean favorites. So what is kimchi exactly? It's cabbage pickled with red pepper and an assortment of veggies. They make all their kimchi in-house, fermenting for at least a week. Just ask for any of these options to be k-styled: thin-cut fries, onion rings, curly fries, tots, or sweet potato fries. I mean just look at the toppings in the pic, see how it can be a whole meal.  Menu

In-N-Out

If you've lived in the area you've probably tried the beloved In-N-Out. Did you know they have a secret menu (or not so secret menu anymore) that includes a special fry experience? When ordering ask for Animal-Style fries. You'll find your shoestring fries topped with melted American Cheese, buttery melted caramelized onions and a signature fry sauce. Menu

Big State Fountain Grill

Burgers and fries reign supreme at Big State. Loaded cheese fries are unforgettable. My co-worker, Lori thinks they rival some of the best cheese fries in all of DFW, including the king of spudtopia, Snuffers. Wow, that's a big statement! If you're a chili fan ask for some of their famous chili to top the already amazing fries. I know my mouth is watering, too. Menu

Thirsty Lion

If you love a classic, well-seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside fry, look no further than Thirsty Lion in the Toyota Music Factory. Their fries aren't topped with anything crazy, but the dipping sauce is what is worth writing home about. Dive into their peppercorn ranch and Sriacha fry sauce for $5.95. It's a great app to start with or paired with one of their juicy burgers. Menu

Zero Degrees

Gosh, these look sooo good. I mean the presentation is everything. Meet the XXTRA Flamin Hot Cheese Fries. If you're a hot Cheetos fan, this might just be your jam. They have several other fry options that I think I need to dive into... like the Carne Asada Fries served with beef, salsa, cheese, onion, and cilantro. Menu
