March is here and Saint Patrick’s Day is around the corner. To celebrate everything green and lucky this month, check out these local Irving restaurants for the best Irish-inspired Eats and Drinks. Let’s transport mentally to the lively streets of Dublin or historic alleys of Belfast through dishes like corned beef, fish & chips, cabbage, Guinness cocktails, and Irish whiskeys. Think we can all agree we need some luck from the Irish this year, so let’s indulge and gather with friends and family; whether in person or virtually.
360 West Las Colinas Blvd.
One of the first places that come to mind when thinking of Irish fun in Irving is Bar Louie located at the Toyota Music Factory. Famous for their relaxed environment with all the classic bar features with an amazing food menu, celebrate Saint Parick’s Day this year with green beer, Irish Whiskey, and all of the Gastrobar favorites. Gather around with friends or order to-go/delivery to bring the party home this Saint Patrick’s Day! Keep an eye out on their social media for featured foods and drinks for the 17th.
Jam + Toast
3351 Regent Blvd #140
975 W John Carpenter Freeway
Start your Saint Patrick’s day early with breakfast at Jam + Toast. With two locations in Irving, stop by for some fresh coffee and Corned Beef Hash. Chopped beef, fried potatoes, caramelized onions bring their flavors together for the perfect Irish morning. Add a fried egg on top for even more breakfast flavors and the perfect savory compliment to a side of sweet pancakes or french toast.
The Ginger Man
5250 N O'Connor Blvd Suite 146
While Fish and Chips may have started in Britain, this tasty combo is all over Ireland and is commonly called a “one and one” in Dublin. The Ginger Man in Las Colinas has incredible fish and chips made with Guinness battered cod, house tartar, waffle fries, and a cilantro mint slaw. Pair with one of many beers on tap or go with the classic Guinness. The Ginger Man will be the place to be on the 17th with live music from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; cocktail features like the Jameson & Community Citra Slice Shandy, Irish Car Bomb, and an Irish Mule; Irish Beers; and Irish foods.
8305 N Belt Line Rd
Another great spot in Irving for Corned Beef Hash is the iconic Irving Diner. Look for the bold checkered pattern and 50’s style vibes to order your corned beef in-house or take to-go to your Saint Patrick's Day celebration! Corned Beef has been featured in Ireland as long ago as the 12th century. The corned beef described during those days was a rare and valued dish, due to the value and position of cattle within the culture, and the expense of salt at the time. While it may be a diner classic now, we can all feel a little Irish while munching on the salty, savory dish.
Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill
350 Las Colinas Blvd W
Probably where I will be this Saint Patrick’s Day, The Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill at Toyota Music Factory will have all the Irish favorites. Available now until the 17th, visit them for Braised Corned Beef, Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef Mac and Cheese, classic Rueben Sandwich, and Bread Pudding for dessert. YUM! For drinks, sip on an Irish Mule, Old Fashioned, or an Irish whiskey flight. All for a good cause as well, Thirsty Lion has partnered with St. Baldrick’s children's cancer research foundation and will be donating $1 for every Irish drink special from March 4 through March 17. On the official day of green, Thirsty Lion will be teaming up with Bushmill’s Whiskey for free merch, giveaways, and fun festivities!
