Today is National Queso Day and yes I may have tears of joy right now! Hot, cheesy, and perfect topping for any chip, burrito, or TexMex favorite. If you’re looking to celebrate the greatest day of the year, Irving has a TON of great options for dine-in, patio seating, curbside, and delivery to enjoy at home.

So how do you load up your queso? Plain cheese? Added beef or brisket? White cheddar? However you like it, you’re sure to find your favorite here in Irving. Check out these cheesy-delicious restaurants!

At El Fenix you can choose between the Chile con Queso, Queso with picadillo beef, Queso with picadillo beef, guacamole and sour cream, or my personal favorite the Fire-Roasted Queso with melted cheeses & roasted chipotle, poblano, jalapeño, onion, tomato & garlic. All queso options go great with their award-winning margaritas!

Not only does Fuzzy’s have some of the best tacos, but the queso options are all delicious! Regular queso with the amazing Fuzzy’s dusted chips is the perfect start to any meal, but you can also spruce it up with chorizo or special beef!

While the bean dip is near and dear to my heart, Gloria’s queso is a must-order when ordering dine-in or to-go. Chile con queso is always delicious, but definitely try their Queso Fundido with a choice of chorizo or rajas with elote, served with flour or corn tortillas. Perfect for brunch, lunch, or dinner!

Hugo’s Invitados may not currently have a queso bowl on their menu for an appetizer, but they feature queso on several on their entrees and salads! Hugo’s is great for fresh Mexican foods with a very cool atmosphere. For an appetizer try the avocado toast with Corn masa patty, salsa roja botanera, avocado, and queso fresco. For some cheesy good salads, order the Arugula Joven, Kale y Quinoa, or the house salad. For cheesy entrees check out the Chicken Tomatillo Enchiladas or Brisket Ahumado Enchiladas both with queso ranchero.

Come for the queso, stay for the cocktails! Definitely, my favorite new Mexican restaurant in Irving and Mexican Sugar is serving up some delicious, creamy queso that pairs perfectly with their inventive cocktail list and beautiful interior and patio. Try their queso blanco and roasted salsa featuring tres Mexican cheeses, toasted dried chile, taste of guac, and cilantro.

A DFW favorite, absolutely love having Mi Cocina in Irving! Celebrate National Queso Day with Queso Blanco with picadillo beef or brisket or the Chile con Queso with picadillo beef or brisket. The perfect start to their TexMex classics.
