The Westin at the Irving Convention Center is the newest hotel in close proximity to Irving's Entertainment District, which houses fabulous recreation, dining, and of course concerts. This makes it a prime location, plus a destination to keep you entertained and coming back for more. Staycationing in Irving is so ideal, it offers so many great hotels and many fun attractions. I can't wait to tell you all about our stay at the beautiful Westin in Las Colinas.
My family and I were hosted to a beautiful staycation to experience the new Westin hotel and its amenities. The Westin Lobby is a dream and gave us all the feels! It's dreamy, chic, modern, and has very wide-open spaces. The highlight of the Lobby is for sure the living plant wall. The Lobby alone is a destination you want to retreat to with comfy sofas and a coffee shop nearby that serves Starbucks and other goodies.
The FREE WiFi in the lobby is a helpful bonus. As we explored the lobby we found several areas where you can get some work done or just lounge. There are plenty of comfy work areas and nooks throughout. I was able to get some work done earlier that day during our staycation. This is perfect for the modern family. We all know work doesn't stop sometimes while on vacation.
As I mentioned, the living plant wall in the lobby that extends onto the patio is a must-see! Be sure to snag a family pic in front of it before you finish your stay. They are a signature thing for all Westins.
Our Room
After checking in at the front desk, the kids immediately grabbed the room key. To our surprise, the room was located on the 14th floor. We were astonished at how high we were. The views from the room were incredible of the Las Colinas Urban Center and the Toyota Music Factory! We had the perfect view for people watching on the Texas Lottery Plaza.
The room was a standard double bed and offered our family so much room to settle in and enjoy. The beds were very cozy with comfortable sheets. The bathroom rain shower feature is really nice for a long shower. I really like that by the nightstand was a bottle of lavender essential oil. How relaxing is that? It really was a nice gift. The small details throughout the room and property made our staycation extra special.
One of the great amenities of having a room on the 14th floor is the Westin Club.
The Westin Club is only offered to guests on the 14th floor with key access. The club offers hot and cold beverages, a variety of snacks, daily newspapers, and many other great amenities that guests can enjoy. There is also a desktop computer and printer to get any necessary work done.
The Westin Club also has televisions. I liked the large dining table in the center of the room. It was something we enjoyed as a family while indulging in our snacks and drinks. For our next visit, I'll have to remember to bring some board games for a family fun afternoon.
And of course, the view overlooking the iconic Irving Convention Center is just fabulous.
The Pool
You have to visit the 2nd floor pool for yourself to appreciate swimming with a view. The pool is only open to hotel guests at this writing and just like the Westin hospitality, the pool is refreshing and inviting. Staycationing at the Westin is worth the pool experience alone.
