Saturday, May 6

Garage Sale at First United Methodist, 211 W. 3rd Street 75060.  8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Immunization and Health Fair, Schulze Elementary School, 1200 S. Irving Heights Drive 75060.  9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Irving ISD’s Clinic and Health Services Department, in conjunction with UT Southwestern Medical Center and UT Southwestern Pediatric Interest Group, will host an Immunization and Health Fair at Schulze Elementary School (1200 S. Irving Heights Dr.). There will be free or low-cost immunizations, free school physicals, vision and hearing exams, dental screenings, assistance in enrolling in Medicaid/CHIP/SNAP, prizes and games and a bike helmet giveaway. Parents will need to bring vaccination records and Medicaid card (if applicable). Prepare for your naturalization exam by taking this series of classes. To register, please bring your legal resident card, and a debit card, check or money order for $30.00 to purchase the book. Classes will be held on Saturdays, May 6 through July 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Learn More

Free Comic Book Day 2017 at the West Library, 4444 W. Rochelle Road 75062.  10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

It's the first Saturday in May, and your yearly chance for a free special-edition comic book!  The selections are chosen from this year's official FCBD titles.  FCBD launched in 2002, and since then millions of comic books have been given away around the world.  All ages. Learn More

Lyric Stage presents Quanah, The Musical, Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd. 75062.  7:30 p.m.  $26.50 - $54.50

This is the world premiere of this historic Texas tale told through the words and music of Grammy Award winner Larry Gatlin!  Quanah is the musical journey of the Comanche chief Quanah Parker and his mother Cynthia Ann Parker, who was kidnapped as girl and raised by the Comanches as one of their own.   Learn More

2017 Cinco de Mayo Multicultural Festival & Education/Health/Job Fair, Senter Park Recreation Center, 901 S. Senter Rd. 75060.  10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  

This is a FREE event with all day blood pressure screening, glucose, mammogram exams, and cholesterol testing with onsite results & referrals, multicultural entertainment, kid's activities and Raffle items while they last!  - Clowns, music: from ballet Folklorico, to Mariachis, Indian and African Dancers!   Learn More


Ice Cream Social at Heritage House, 303 S. O'Connor Road 75060.  2 p.m.

The Irving Heritage Society will host an ice cream social on the front lawn of the Heritage House at 303 South O’Connor. A general meeting beginning at 2pm will include the election and installation of officers for the upcoming year, followed by the refreshments. A croquet set will be available for a round or two for those wishing to play. Tours of the Heritage House and Mary’s Playhouse will be conducted from 3pm to 5pm.
