Electrofest: All-Ages EDM Spectacular
Location: Irving Convention Center
Price: $15, $10 for 4 or more, $20 VIP, $50 Ultra VIP, $8 parking
When: Friday, Feb. 5, 7-10:30 p.m.
This is definitely out of my age bracket, probably because I had to google "EDM" to see what it stood for when I first heard about this event. I feel a little out of the know, but it's for all ages. I checked out a few of their videos, and it looks like a pretty cool show. I totally get it now, thanks Electrofest for teaching me about Electronic Dance Music. Cool Pony who's putting on the show described themselves like this, "Cool Pony is a magical label, portal to a world of nocturnal musical ninjas, and home to a pool of rare artists, events, and music that elevate and inspire." So if you're into electronic music come out to the Irving Convention Center this Friday night.
Transport to a dazzling EDM universe of Electro sight & sound. Warning: If you don’t want your mind blown, don’t like to have fun, don’t like insanely cool music & unearthly light shows, then this EDM spectacular is definitely not for you. If however, that all sounds like a blast, just click on "get tickets" while they last. (This party is limited to 2000 guests.) All ages.

Texas Musicians Museum - Tribute to "The Day the Music Died"
Location: Texas Musicians Museum
Price: $10-15, plus FREE music every Saturday evening
When: Through Feb 13
I'm a west Texas girl from Lubbock, so each time I hear the name Buddy Holly, my ears perk up. I grew up learning about this guy and listening to his songs. So if you're a lover of music in general, you have to come to the Texas Musicians Museum to check out pieces of history during this tribute. The guys at TMM are doing a rocking job of preserving Texas music history and it's really fun to see.
"The Day the Music Died," will be in tribute to Texans Buddy Holly and Jiles Perry Richardson “The Big Bopper." They'll have an array of incredible items on display including stage clothing, documents, artifacts, images and interviews from the past about that tragic day and the lives and music of these great musicians. The most unusual piece of rock 'n roll history will also be on display - the Big Boppers casket he was buried in after the plane crash. If you're like me, you just said, "WHAT?" I guess if we want to know the full story we'll have to go down there and learn more.
