The Garden of Earthly Delights: Paintings by Jaime Arredondo

Originally from Irving, Jaime Arrendono has returned to his hometown with some beauty to show off. His bursting-with-color exhibit at the Irving Arts Center is FREE and open to the public. Arredondo’s series of lush, large-scale floral paintings explore color, light and beauty as well as the sensual and spiritual symbolism of the flower in both Western and non-Western cultures.  You can read all about it in the recent Dallas Morning News article. 1. Irving YMCA Fall Festival KIB Green Event

2. Fall Fest and Family Funday

Location: Irving Arts Center

When: Saturday, 11-3 p.m. 

There will be inside fun for all ages to combat the rainy weather and add a little art to your weekend. Join them throughout the day from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. to participate in an instructor-lead craft for all ages. It's open to the public and it's FREE. 3. Halloween Zombie Jam

Location: Lively Pointe
Price: FREE
When: Saturday, 7-11 p.m. 

Stagger in for an evening of ghostly fun. Take on zombies in the laser tag arena, create your own caramel apple, enjoy music, food and more! Free pizza and soda will be served. For students in grades 6-12. Free admission. Please bring valid IPAR card or school ID. Learn More

4. Madam Pince's Haunted Library

Location: South Irving Library

When: Sunday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of tricks and treats, crafts, games, balloon animals and face painting. Then get in line for the annual haunted house where creepy characters and scary animatronics hide behind every corner. Learn More


American Vapor Convention

Location: Irving Convention Center
Price: Free, parking $5
When: Saturday 12-6 p.m. , Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Vape has come to town. As you explore around the exhibit hall you'll notice the large booths and lavish spreads, not your typical trade show. There will be tons of industry leaders in attendance...plus there's a mechanical bull to ride! You must be 18 or older to attend. Sampling and vaping is allowed in the exhibit hall and outside of the building. Learn more and register

When: October 1, 2015 - October 31. Tuesday through Friday - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Monday and City Holidays - Closed.

In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog month, Irving Animal Services is offering all large dogs - 40 pounds and up - for a discounted adoption fee of only $25. Normally, the adoption fees range from $70 - $100.
Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid form of identification.  You don't need to be a citizen of Irving to adopt a pet. Check out these sweet pups!
