With September winding down and fall nearly upon us, it’s not too late to get in some “self-care” during #NationalWellnessMonth.

Put yourself first and put your well-being at the top of your “to-do” list with some much-needed “me” (or “we”) time. Here are some ideas to help you just take a breath and relax, restore, and regenerate.

Fitness at the Texas Music Factory

At 4:45 a.m. and 6 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Camp Gladiator offers classes on the Texas Lottery Plaza at the Toyota Music Factory (TMF); their community class at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays is free. Sunday mornings at 8:30 belong to YogaSix Las Colinas, who move their in-studio class outdoors; they also just added an 8:30 a.m. Friday class. And since September is also National Yoga Month, your first class at YogaSix is free.

But those aren’t the only ways you can get your fitness on at TMF. Zumba, Pound Fit, High-intensity Interval Training, and other courses are offered. Check the Texas Lottery Plaza Calendar for dates and times.

A Spot of Tea (or Coffee), Perhaps

Treat yourself to an afternoon London Fog tea or Turkish coffee (a specialty!) on the patio of Pax & Beneficia. It’s great people-watching by the lake, plus, every Tuesday, the shop donates a percentage of proceeds to a local charity. Drink tea/coffee, do good!

Lounge by the Lake

With the days and nights cooling down a bit, it’s a perfect time to take a leisurely walk around one of our many lakes in Irving. In particular, Lake Carolyn in Las Colinas and Camino Lago in La Villita both have paved walking paths around the lake circumference (about 2.5 and 1.3 miles respectively) and plenty of places to stop along the way to read a book or just take in the people, pets and wildlife as they go by.
