New Facility Showcases Rare Memorabilia From Legends Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, Willie Nelson, Beyonce Knowles And Many More

 The Texas Musicians Museum and its adjacent Music Garden open their doors in historic downtown Irving on Saturday, July 25th.  The much anticipated new addition to Irving’s thriving arts, entertainment and tourism scene offers an up- close and personal encounter with memorabilia from hundreds of music icons hailing from the Lone Star State.

Exhibits feature items from artists and groups representing multiple musical genres, including Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Destiny’s Child, Willie Nelson, Janis Joplin, Waylon Jennings and many more. Records, stage-worn outfits, instruments, awards,  and more fill the 18,000 square foot space located at 222 E. Irving Boulevard in Irving’s Heritage Crossing District, a few minutes’ walk from the TRE train station.

“We are delighted that the largest public display of Texas music history in the world has found its home in Irving,” said Tom Kreason, director of the Texas Musicians Museum. “Irving is a super accessible and friendly destination and we can’t wait to share our collection with local and visiting music enthusiasts alike.”

The Texas Musicians Museum will hold a BIG Opening celebration on July 25th, featuring two sessions of live music in the adjacent Texas Music Garden, self-guided walk-through tours of the Museum, food and beverage for purchase from Neon Armadillo. Beginning August 1, regular hours will be Sunday 12 noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.  (Closed Mondays.)  The adjacent Music Garden will feature live performances that include free self-guided tours of the Museum, and will also serve lunch and dinner five days a week.
