Dallas Zoo is a 106-acre zoo located 3 miles south of downtown Dallas, in Marsalis Park. Established in 1888, it is the oldest and largest zoological park in Texasand is managed by the non-profit Dallas Zoological Society. It is home to over 2,000 animals representing 406 species. It is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). 

 The "Wilds of Africa" exhibit is the first of its kind in the world to recreate each of the six major habitats of the entire African continent. A mile-long monorail and forest walking trail take you through the wilderness reserve. Giants of the Savanna  provides an interactive experience for guests built around the many different species of animals that call the savanna home.
