Out of an abundance of caution, due to the civil unrest in Dallas-Fort Worth, the City of Irving is extending its nighttime curfew in certain areas of the city. The curfew remains in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly and ends on Friday, June 5th, at 9 a.m.
It takes about 10 minutes to drive there from downtown Dallas, but the Trinity River Audubon Center feels worlds away. It is home to four miles of hiking trails, a wide variety of bird species and some indoor attractions. So hike the trails, explore in the exhibit hall, picnic in the cafe. Admission is free every Third Thursday of the month.
