High Spirited Citizens

Please note: Nominations are currently closed and will reopen on January 1, 2027.

Irving's High Spirited Citizen program was initiated in 1988 by the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB). Its purpose is to recognize and encourage the spirit of volunteerism within the city of Irving. High Spirited Citizen award recipients are honored by the Mayor, Irving City Council and ICVB Board of Directors at an annual High Spirited Citizen Awards Ceremony and Luncheon, and are further recognized by participation in the City of Irving's Annual Holiday Parade. To date, more than 400 of Irving's "unsung" heroes have been named High Spirited Citizens.

Anyone may nominate a group or individual for the High Spirited Citizen Award. Candidates must meet the criteria listed in the guidelines for award consideration. All nominations for the High Spirited Citizen Award are considered and selected by the ICVB Board of Directors Community Engagement Committee, with final approval by the ICVB Board of Directors. The Community Engagement Committee is appointed by the ICVB Board Chairman annually, with the Board of Directors appointed by the Irving City Council.

To nominate an outstanding Irving resident for this award, please fill out and submit an online Nomination Form by July 1, 2026. (Nominations are currently closed.)
