Irving Art Association
The IAA is a nonprofit arts organization established in 1956. One of the oldest cultural organizations in Irving, it serves as conservator of the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts. IAA hosts and supports year-round art appreciation events and educational opportunities. The organization’s schedule includes at least 20 curated gallery exhibits, professional artist demonstrations at eight membership meetings from September through May, free basic classes in art, and workshops by professional artists.
Jaycee Park Center for the Arts is host to a wide range of IAA art events every year in its East and West galleries. From local, regional, and national artists, Jaycee Park Center for the Arts is home to photography and painting exhibits, folk art, and more. The annual Animal Art Show and Photography Exhibit provide competition for artists and photographers in Irving and the entire Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The Animal Art Show is a special art competition that awards the best depictions of animal life, from wildlife to domestic animals, and even mythic creatures. Here, a panel of judges select award winners for cash prizes. Other events feature local artists, such as the Tuesday Painters Exhibit, an annual exhibit by the Tuesday Painters group, a group of artists that meet every Tuesday. Explore the calendar of events on the IAA website for more information, dates, and times.
