More InfoNo matter what your vision of Texas is, you'll find more than meets the eye with this unique itinerary - from trail rides and cattle drives to western art and campfire cooking - it’s everything you want Texas to be! This itinerary is flexible, and can easily be packaged to suit your particular needs, interests or days of the week. (Only the Gospel Sunday Brunch is limited to Sundays).
Your day starts at the spectacular Mustangs of Las Colinas, one of the world's largest equestrian sculptures. After a group picture in front of this majestic backdrop, you'll want to visit the museum, where visitors learn the story of the eight years of work African wildlife artist Robert Glen invested in creating the Mustangs. Other works of art by Glen are also on display in the museum. Take a break for lunch at The Ranch at Las Colinas, the epitome of a "farm-to-fork" restaurant, serving seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, Texas Kobe beef from the southern plains, quail from Bandera, and locally-sourced vegetables. The Ranch offers a variety of dishes that appeal to all tastes. Finish the day with a serenade at sunset from a singing cowboy, as your group enjoys hayrides, horseback riding and a campfire cookout at Circle R Ranch.
Today starts with a hearty brunch at Whiskey Cake, and then it's on to Downtown Dallas for an up close-up look at Texas history. The Sixth Floor Museum offers the permanent educational exhibition of the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy, and features nearly 400 historic photographs, artifacts, interpretive displays and 40 minutes of documentary film to recreate an unforgettable chapter in history. En route to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science Education and Research at the Texas State Fairgrounds, there's time for a quick photo opportunity at Pioneer Plaza, a sculpture recreation of an old west cattle drive. Shoppers will enjoy the next stop - the legendary Neiman Marcus flagship store, with an option for lunch in the café or the more formal Zodiac Room. Old City Park is nearby, with 37 restored historic homes, buildings and shops providing a step back to the 19th century. Then it's back to your hotel for a break before heading out to dinner at the Trail Dust Steakhouse - just two words of warning - NO TIES!
Head west today for a mix of Texas fun in Fort Worth! You'll enjoy breakfast in this unique setting of the Fort Worth Zoo's Texas! Exhibit. Then it's off to the Amon Carter Museum and the Sid Richardson Museum, to explore a different sort of cowboy culture. A trip to Texas wouldn't be complete without at least one Tex-Mex meal, so lunch at the legendary Joe T. Garcia's will give everyone a taste of the spicy side of Texas. Spend the afternoon wandering the shops of the Stockyards Station before line-dancing lessons at Billy Bob's. Don't forget to catch the daily cattle drive to and from the Stockyards. A dinner at the Cattleman's Steakhouse, and then spend the evening exploring the Stockyards nightlife, including a rodeo.
Consider a Winemaker's Brunch at the Delaney Vineyards, or spend the afternoon shopping at Grapevine Mills - Texas-sized values and Texas-sized fun, with more than 2 million square feet of "shoppertainment!"
