16th Anniversary of His End Of Watch

Officer Andrew Esparza Memorial 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run

Andrew “Andy” Esparza was a young man whose life was cut short while assisting another Irving police officer - both on duty. Officer Esparza was the first in his family to attend college. His family now gifts scholarships to youth in his honor through the Andrew Esparza Foundation. Since its inception in 2008, the foundation has provided $65,000 in college scholarships to children of Irving Police Officers and many other students.

His memory continues through the foundation's work and his family, including a brother, Ralph Esparza, who has also proudly served in the Irving Police Department for 26 years. "His name, his service, and his legacy live on – through every stride we take together," said Christina Esparza (Mother of fallen Officer Andrew Esparza)
