Honoring 1500 healthcare heroes for their tireless efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic
 

IRVING, Texas (May 11, 2020) … In a joint effort to honor the healthcare heroes in our community, the City of Irving, Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Las Colinas Association are hosting events at the community’s two hospitals on Tuesday, May 12th.  The celebration begins at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Irving (1901 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75061) at 7:00 am, followed by a second celebration at Medical City Las Colinas (6800 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75039) at noon.

 

Irving is marking National Nurses & Hospital Week in numerous ways include the following:

 

  • Distribution of 1500 thank you bags to medical professionals including donated items from the City of Irving, Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau, Las Colinas Association, Citi, Keurig Dr Pepper, Kroger and OSSC-D, An Omnicom Company.
  • 1500 meals from Via Real and Glory House Catering provided to healthcare workers by Celanese.
  • Irving Police and Fire lighting up and honking for our heroes at both hospitals.
  • Irving Mayor, City Council and community members holding signs of support and cheering for our healthcare workers provided complimentary by Alphgraphics Stemmons Corridor.
  • Professional artists chalking the sidewalks with messages of thanks and hope.
  • Buildings in Irving-Las Colinas will be lit in blue in recognition of the power of compassion and support for our healthcare professionals.
  • Encouraging residents to help celebrate by joining us during the events, making signs and posting messages of thanks on social media using #IrvingRocksTogether.


Events will happen rain or shine.  Media is invited to attend the event at Medical City Las Colinas only.  Footage from both events will be available for download following the events, courtesy of the Irving Community Television Network.
