TOTAL ECLIPSE IN THE PARK WITH
THE WORLD’S LARGEST EDIBLE MOON PIE TAKES PLACE IN IRVING
IRVING, TEXAS (April 8, 2024): As totality swept across parts of Texas and the United States today for the solar eclipse, nearly 6,000 people from across the globe gathered in Irving for the “Total Eclipse in the Park” event held at the Levy Event Plaza in Las Colinas.
The team at the Irving Convention Center created the “World’s Largest Edible Moon Pie,” which was served to guests at the event moments before totality arrived.
In addition to the Moon Pie, guests could make Sunflower Crowns, listen to music, enjoy food trucks, ride gondolas, and enjoy a prime viewing location for the total eclipse.
“We had a fantastic event,” said Diana Pfaff, Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Visit Irving. “It was great seeing families from not just Irving but from across Texas, from many states and even several countries who chose to visit Irving for the total eclipse. The World’s Largest Edible Moon Pie was a hit, and it received rave reviews.”
