Feeling brave? Venture into the haunted house, where you'll be met by some spook-tacular costumed characters ready to give you a good fright. But if scares aren’t your thing, don’t worry—there are plenty of carnival games, rides, and interactive experiences to keep everyone entertained! Indulge in a caramel apple, get your face painted, and who knows—you might even win one of the pumpkin giveaways. Don’t forget to take advantage of the many family photo ops available to capture those unforgettable moments!
This fang-tastic event originally debuted as a drive-thru in 2020 and quickly became a howling success. Now, each spooky season, Irving Parks and Recreation invites all the city's ghosts and ghouls to boo-gie on down for some frightful fun.
With tons of opportunities for trick-or-treating, the little ones are sure to fill their baskets, so come prepared! And be on the lookout for some incredible costumes—you might not even recognize your neighbors!

Day of The Dead Canalside Celebration
November 2, 2024
2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
At the Mandalay Canal Walk at Las Colinas
As you arrive, expect to be surrounded by colorful décor and the lively sounds of mariachi music, complemented by mouthwatering Mexican cuisine, sweets, and desserts from local restaurants throughout the day. For a unique perspective of the festivities, Gondola Adventures will offer enchanting rides along the Mandalay Canal, providing an unmatched view of the celebration.
Immerse yourself in the festive spirit by getting your face painted with traditional sugar skull makeup, also known as calavera makeup. This unique style, inspired by La Calavera Catrina, is a visual symbol of the holiday.
As the sun sets, get ready for a spectacular show featuring the Mandalay Canal's lights and sound system. Keeping with tradition, the event will also feature an ofrenda, a beautiful altar where they’ll be honoring loved ones in the community who have passed.
This free event is open to all, but RSVPs are encouraged! Last year, over 2,000 people filled the canals to celebrate and learn about Día de los Muertos, and this year is expected to be even bigger and better. Don’t miss your chance to experience this incredible day of art, culture, and community in the heart of Las Colinas.
