Temperatures are dropping and it's time to put your iced coffee on hold till spring. While often overshadowed by lattes, you should not miss out on a hot, smooth cappuccino. A cappuccino consists of espresso, steamed milk, and topped with ultra frothy milk foam. Rather than a latte, which is mostly steamed milk and often accompanied by added flavors, you can definitely taste the espresso more in a cappuccino for it is equal parts espresso and milk. To enjoy the rich flavor and perfect balance of sweet and bitter, try a high-quality espresso in Irving at one of our many local coffee shops. Check out these places below to warm up with a cappuccino this winter season.

Cuppa Espresso Bar

2435 Kinwest Pkwy | (972) 560-4623

Definitely a hidden gem in Irving, Cuppa Espresso Bar is located inside the Irving Bible Church and is a must visit for your caffeine boost. This is no donuts and stale coffee kind of church cafe, Cuppa is a full blown coffee shop with high-quality beans, expert baristas, and is 100% open to the general public. Follow signs for parking and the Cuppa entrance and you will be greeted with the smell of freshly roasted coffee and the sweetest employees. This is a great place to enjoy a cappuccino to sip in their spacious, laptop-friendly dining room or on their sunny patio while catching some rays.

Pax & Beneficia Coffee

5244 N O'Connor Blvd | (214) 390-6883

Quickly becoming a favorite amongst Irving-ites since opening in the fall of 2019, Pax & Beneficia Coffee is an amazing experience to behold by coffee lovers. With their international flavors, handled with care and passion, you will find something for everyone to enjoy. Go bold with traditional Turkish coffee, keep it sweet with handcrafted lattes and mochas, or go simple with locally roasted coffee. Pax & Beneficia is a warm, inviting cafe that encourages catching up with an old friend and meeting your neighbors. Enjoy a hot cappuccino this winter with some fresh pastries from La Casita Bakeshop and Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie daily while supplies last. Take your cappuccino to-go and enjoy the fresh air off Lake Carolyn or savor the great outdoor public patio of Water Street.

Argentina Bakery

3401 W Airport Fwy #112 | (972) 252-4809

When shopping for a birthday celebration, pastry brunch spread or just something sweet for yourself, Argentina Bakery has you covered on all things sweet, savory and caffeinated. Recently named the Best Bakery in Irving 2021, this independent, family-owned bakery is cooking up some seriously authentic Argentinian treats and fresh coffee. Order a fresh cappuccino and I recommend pairing your drink with a salty pastry like their Ham & Cheese Empanadas or a Cañoncitos filled with fresh chocolate and hazelnut spread.

Italian Cafe

387 E Las Colinas Blvd #120 |  (972) 401-0216

After an incredible meal with Italian Cafe, nothing sounds better to me than to settle all that delicious food with a fresh, hot cappuccino. Italian Cafe is located near the shores of Lake Carolyn and makes this one of my favorite patios to enjoy a slight breeze of the water and amazing food with friends and family. Large portions, fresh ingredients and friendly staff will keep you coming back again and again. Whether enjoying lunch, dinner or their delicious weekend brunch, there is no bad time to have a cappuccino when on Italian time.

Nosh and Bottle

370 West Las Colinas Boulevard Suite 100 | (469) 442-0808

Known as “Irving’s Living Room”, Nosh & Bottle Market is a unique staple on the Irving restaurant scene. Amazing wine selections sold at retail price, hand-crafted snacks and entrees, freshly baked desserts, Nosh & Bottle is a must visit to stock up for a picnic or spread at home. I am an avid follower in the daily routine of AM coffee/PM wine, and Nosh & Bottle is the perfect spot to fill up on both. Visit their very friendly staff that will happily whip up a fresh cappuccino while you shop for charcuterie supplies or play a quick round of one of many board games available in the lounge area.

United Indian Cafe

3311 Regent Blvd Suite #121 | (972) 636-4105

The newest member of the Irving coffee shop scene is United Indian Cafe, formerly United Coffee House. This traditional cafe offers a twist of Indian flavors for a uniquely caffeinated experience. Weekend brunch and baked fresh daily desserts and pastries will pair perfectly with a cappuccino in your hand. Enjoy their large indoor dining space or whip through their drive-thru for a convenient cup on the go. One of the few cafes open late, enjoy a morning cappuccino and an evening decaf Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Next time you are visiting one of Irving's many coffee shops, skip the latte for now and go for a cappuccino! Cheers!
