When National Margarita Day falls on Taco Tuesday, there’s only one way to celebrate - with Mexican food and margaritas. Of course, here in Irving there are plenty of places to celebrate. Whether you like things casual or styled up a bit, you’re sure to find the perfect spot to raise a glass to one of our all-time favorite cocktails. If you’re looking to celebrate National Margarita Day in Irving, here are eight great restaurants that will make the day a special one.

La Margarita Mod-Mex Kitchen & Rita Lounge

2922 N Belt Line Rd | (972) 570-1137

Celebrating National Margarita Day at a restaurant with Margarita in the name can’t be wrong, right? At La Margarita, you’ll find lots of margs on the menu and the only difficulty will be choosing which one to order. From fruit-infused flavors to the Hibiscus Jalapeño, Pink Taco, and Titarita options, there’s an endless array of choices.

Aficionados will appreciate the build your own options with your choice of more than a dozen tequila brands in three levels of aging (Blanco, Reposado and Añejo) and your choice of cordial (Grand Marnier, Cointreau or Patron Citrónge).

If all that sounds complicated, you can take it easy, because a top shelf margarita with a Grand Marnier floater might suit you just fine.

Mexican Sugar

3215 Regent Blvd | (469) 313-1300

At Mexican Sugar, there are a dozen different on-the-rocks ritas to choose from, and you can order a flight of three to help you choose your favorite. The flight includes the Machete (made with watermelon, cucumber, and serrano-pepper-infused tequila), a Hibiscus-infused Sipper, and a classic marg.

You’ll also find some frozen ritas on the menu, and the new Chupa is made with passion fruit, and house-made Chamoy. It’s just in time for National Margarita Day and it’s only $8. Also in celebration of the holiday, on February 22, Mexican Sugar will upgrade all margaritas to include Socorro tequila – a Dallas-based tequila brand.

Hugo’s Invitados

5228 N O’Connor Blvd #126 | (214) 496-0590

Just like the food at Hugo’s Invitados, cocktails are made with fresh, organic ingredients. Try a Grilled Pineapple margarita or CBD-infused marg to change things up. Margaritas made with tequila’s smokier “cousin” - mezcal - are yummy too. Order a simple Mezcal Margarita or a Spicy Oaxaca, made with pineapple puree, habanero agave, hibiscus agave, and lime juice, if you like your cocktails with a little heat.

Two Mules Cantina at Texican Court

501 W. Las Colinas Blvd | (833) 839-4226

Happy hour is hopping at Texican Court, and your options for fabulous drinks are numerous. Have beers in the Two Mules Beer Garden, tequila shots in the Salt Tequila Bar or dinner with drinks at Two Mules Cantina. Margarita menu options are inspired, from the classic to the Prickly Pear Margarita to the Diablo, made with El Jimador Silver tequila and muddled fresh jalapeño with lime juice and Triple Sec orange liqueur.

Mattito’s

1001 MacArthur Park | (214) 379-0165

Are you ready to rumble? Or is it rumba? Either way the Rumbarita at Mattito’s will add some excitement to your next night out. These (limit two per person) tasty margaritas are made with Sauza Gold tequila and blue Curacao, and you can have them frozen or on the rocks.

Other choices include a top shelf margarita, a frozen swirl margarita and even a beer rita, which is topped off with (you guessed it) beer. Tequila Tuesdays are a regular thing at Mattito’s, and since National Margarita Day is on a Tuesday, be ready for the party to be kicked up a notch.

Via Reál

4020 N MacArthur Blvd #100 | (972) 650-9001

Since 1985, Via Real has been the place where Southwestern cuisine and fine dining meet in Irving. It’s a popular spot for margaritas too, and there’s a nice selection to choose from. Owner Fran Mathers loves the Via Rita, served martini style, and there’s also a Skinny Rita, as well as house and top-shelf sippables.

For stellar food and boutique-brand tequila cocktails, this is the place to add a little elegance to your National Margarita Day celebration.

It’s not ALL about the tacos at Pacheco Taco Bar, but this Taco Tuesday is a great day to visit. Order up your favorite tacos, bowls, and tortas with a can’t-miss margarita to make the meal perfect. Frozen or on-the-rocks in a salt or spice-rimmed glass, drinking margaritas in this fiesta-themed spot is festive every day.

Chili’s Bar and Grill

3421 W Airport Freeway and 1300 Market Place Blvd | (972) 255-2727
1300 Market Pl Blvd | (214) 574-4574

If you only know one thing about this restaurant chain that’s headquartered here in Irving, you probably know that while they didn’t invent fajitas, they made them popular nationwide. And what goes better with fajitas than margaritas? I can’t think of a single thing!

Lucky for us, there’s not just a single location of Chili’s here in Irving - that neighborhood feeling is happening in Las Colinas and on Airport Freeway.

Chili’s has a $5 margarita of the month year-round, and this month’s offering is extra sweet - the Grand Romance Rita. It’s a mix of Grand Marnier, Lunazul Tequila and pomegranate syrup with traditional sour mix. What a perfect way to say “I Love Margaritas” on National Margarita Day!
