The most important meal of the day; breakfast is served in Irving! Always stay on the sunny side up with these local favorite spots for hearty omelets, fluffy pancakes, and hot coffee. Whether you're brunchin’ on the weekend or enjoy a quick bite before work, check out these breakfast staples in Irving!
Jam + Toast
3351 Regent Blvd #140Any meal at Jam + Toast feels special with their delicious flavors, friendly staff and welcoming environment. If you love breakfast, this is the place to be. Fruity crepes, decadent French toast and savory skillets will make the whole table happy. My two favorite menu items include the Irving skillet with two eggs any style, chicken apple sausage, roasted red peppers, fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach and Monterey jack cheese, and the Lula’s Crunchy French Toast with brioche bread, Rice Krispies, and topped with warm caramel sauce.
The Ranch at Las Colinas
857 W John Carpenter FwyWe can’t talk about breakfast in Irving without mentioning a place that serves Texas-shaped waffles! True to their fashion, The Ranch at Las Colinas proves everything is bigger in Texas, including their weekend brunch! Tasty cocktails and savory entrees will make going to The Ranch the best decision you make on a Saturday morning. Smoked Fried Chicken and Waffle featuring a smoked fried leg quarter, cheddar cornbread waffle, sunny side farm eggs, jalapeño sausage gravy, and ancho-maple syrup; need I say more?
Joe’s Coffee Shop
425 W Irving BlvdA staple to the Irving food scene, Joe’s Coffee Shop has been serving up hot coffee and fresh pies since 1969. Their classic diner breakfast includes large plates and hearty portions. Try the Big Bird with two pancakes, two eggs, and bacon or sausage with hash browns. Their omelets are also a must-order, and who doesn't love a place where you can get biscuits and gravy on the side? Be sure to treat yourself and your sweet tooth to a slice of their incredible, made-from-scratch pies to top off your breakfast experience at Joe’s!
Le Peep of Las Colinas
4835 N O'Connor RdAs the name suggests, Le Peep is cooking up some seriously delicious classic and modern French pastries, breakfast dishes, and specialty coffees. Enjoy flavorful eggs Benedict and sweet or savory crepes, like my personal favorite - the Boulder Crepe with spinach, mushrooms, artichokes, diced tomatoes, chicken and brie. You will feel like you are enjoying a true Parisian morning with the relaxing atmosphere and fresh coffee and espresso drinks.
Irving Diner
8305 N Belt Line RdAn icon in DFW, Irving Diner is a must-try for breakfast! Retro soda shop vibes create magic with each bite you take of their delicious Caramelized Pecan Waffles, Banana Nutella French Toast, or my go-to order - country potatoes topped with cheese and two sunny side up eggs. It almost makes you want to order a milkshake with breakfast (and hey, we’re not judging). There's definitely something on the menu for the whole family and it's a great spot to visit if you haven't been yet.
Original ChopShop
7300 N MacArthur Blvd #140For those looking for the lighter side of breakfast, Original ChopChop is the perfect spot for fresh juices, smoothies and healthy breakfast dishes. Whether dining in or grabbing something to-go before work, here are some of my favorite items to start the day. 1) The ABC Toast with two eggs over easy, smashed avocado, bacon, fontina, arugula and house bread. 2) The Sunrise Wrap with egg white, tomato, onion, sweet potato, white cheddar and avocado pesto. 3) The Power Bowl with scrambled egg, bacon, goat cheese, broccoli, mushroom, arugula, Brussels sprouts and smashed avocado. The perfect complement to any of their tasty breakfast dishes or a meal replacement are the fresh-pressed juices packed with loads of pure fresh fruit and vegetables with no added sugars or flavors. I recommend the Cold Buster featuring carrot, orange, ginger, turmeric and lemon to get your day supercharged!
Mattito’s
1001 MacArthur ParkNot only is Mattito’s the perfect place to enjoy Sunday brunch, but they are cooking up some of the best Mexican and Tex-Mex breakfast dishes in Irving. Huevos rancheros, steak and eggs, and chilaquiles will make any Texan or out-of-state visitor happy (along with their $3 mimosas and bloody mary's). Unfortunately, these delicious dishes are only available on Sundays so be sure to visit them the next time someone asks, “where should we go for brunch?”
Gipsy Lime Taco Lounge
8701 Cypress Waters Blvd #100As any Texan will tell you, breakfast tacos are a staple to our morning routines. While we all love our drive-thru taco chains, next time you are craving soft scrambled eggs and warm tortillas, support local and head to Gipsy Lime. With several amazing options to choose from, you may just have to get one of each of their breakfast tacos. Since they're served all day long, you should dive into egg tacos with potato, bacon, chorizo, barbacoa, ham, or keep it simple with just a layer of melted cheese.
