Labor Day is just around the corner, let us help you navigate the fun events going including happy hour, FREE live music and comedy shows. Check out this weekend itinerary to get you started on a great adventure.

Kick off your Labor Day weekend with happy hour at The Ranch Las Colinas on Friday from 3-7pm. This will be great for families to enjoy an evening with delicious food, drinks and live music from Darrell Goldman.

Laughs By the Lake – Lake Carolyn is back and this event is FREE to the public and be ready to laugh, eat and relax. K-Von is the headliner and you might recognize him from MTV’s hit show Disaster Date. He is known to put on a hilarious show.

In-N-Out Burger will be on site and the first 1,000 people will receive complimentary burger meals. Come, have fun and be apart of the largest outdoor comedy show in North Texas.

With all the festivities going on you will want to take a relaxing morning bike ride or walk and explore the greenbelt trails that make up the Campion Trail System. There are several trail heads around Irving. The Keenan Crossing Trail Park on Riverside Drive is a great place to start.

Also nearby, the Farmers Market at the Irving Arts Center is a healthy way to spend the morning, with seasoned vendors offering local and fresh goodies.

After your bike ride and morning walks you can enjoy iced coffee at the Cuppa Espresso Bar or Java Me Up. Both locations are Irving-ites local favorites and just a short drive from the trails.

Continuing with an active Saturday, take the kids to one of the two Aquatic Centers in Irving. Cimmaron & West Aquatic Center will both have special hours from noon-8pm during Labor Day weekend. Great places to get in that last summer swim.

For evening fun, Pinstack is a great option for family fun and indoor entertainment. This is an action packed place which includes bowling, arcade, laser tag and a restaurant to satisfy those growling bellies.

Start your Sunday off the right way with brunch at Whiskey Cake, from 9am to 3pm. The chicken and waffles is a brunch classic but feel free to explore because everything on the menu here is delicious. Of course, make sure to save room for dessert because the whiskey cake is a must-have.

Now is the time to catch up on some movies that you've been wanting to see. Whether you like action, comedy, or drama, all can be found at the Alamo Drafthouse at TMF.

If you didn't grab dinner at the movies, end your evening with tacos at Torchy’s or El Famoso with a view of the Lake Carolyn fountains. You can sleep in on Monday-- remember it is a long weekend.

This is your last day of the Irving Labor Day itinerary and you’ll enjoy just taking it easy. I suggest you start with a homemade Southern-style breakfast at Joe’s Coffee Shop in Downtown Irving. It’s where the locals eat and it’s worth a visit.

After you’ve enjoyed your coffee and pancakes, go and try stand up paddle boarding with a view while you relax on Lake Carolyn. You will find parking at the SUP-NTX shack and the rentals booth will be downstairs at the canals.

Feel free to mix it up, switch it around and make this itinerary your own while enjoying your Labor Day weekend in Irving.
