One of the best ways to take in some Irving sunshine is on the water. Whether you dine along Lake Carolyn, take a gondola down the Mandalay Canals or find a pool to lounge by, Irving, Texas, offers plenty of water activities to keep you busy and refreshed all year round.

Grab A Gondola

Inspired by the canals of Venice, Irving’s Mandalay Canals are an iconic part of the Las Colinas Urban Center. Many of the canals are not viewable from public areas, so traveling by gondola is the best way to take in these breathtaking views. Gondola Adventures of Las Colinas offers a variety of cruises, including dinner cruises for those looking for a romantic evening. Classic cruises start at $155, while those with dinner included starting at $245.

Sneak in an arm workout on the canals with a kayak excursion or a stand-up paddleboard lesson. Stand Up Paddle North Texas is the premier destination for all things paddle board. They offer hourly rentals, lessons and more. Check out their fitness classes with low impact, full body workouts or join a guided 3-hour sunset tour to the fountains and waterfalls. They offer popular Couples Retreat and Mom’s Day & Night Out packages. Large groups and special event scheduling is available.

Replace paddles with pedals for a unique way to see the sights of Lake Carolyn. Rent an aqua trike! These brightly colored trikes with giant wheels are easy to maneuver and perfect for the whole family. Kids over 12 can pedal their own trike, while parents can pair up with smaller children. Families can also rent pedal boats, in regular or swan shaped. The pedal boats can fit up to four people and are rented in 50-minute increments.
