Some restaurants serve dinner. Knife Italian Steak serves an entrance.

Step inside this glamorous dining room at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, and the first course is the setting itself. Saturated color. Curved booths. Glowing lights. A bar dressed for the occasion.

It is polished. Playful. Unapologetically luxurious.

A steakhouse with Italian soul

Knife at the Ritz

At Knife Italian Steak, two great culinary traditions meet at the table.

The precision of a modern steakhouse joins the warmth of an Italian family dinner. Expertly aged beef shares the menu with handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and seafood. Familiar flavors arrive with a little more finesse and sometimes a bit of theater.

The restaurant is the creation of celebrated chef John Tesar, whose Knife & Spoon at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, earned a Michelin star. For this Las Colinas concept, Tesar looked to his upbringing on New York City’s Upper East Side and the Italian-American food that helped shape his culinary point of view.

The result is refined, but never restrained.

Start light. Finish lavishly.

Knife Italian Steak Food

Knife Italian Steak calls its menu progressive. Translation: Dinner gets richer as the evening unfolds.

Begin with something bright from the raw bar. Add a house-made pasta or a wood-fired pizza for the table. Then turn your attention to the steaks, including carefully aged cuts that deliver deep, concentrated flavor.

The menu was made for sharing, although deciding who gets the last bite may require negotiation.

This is the kind of meal that rewards lingering. Order another glass from the sommelier-selected wine list. Let the plates arrive in waves. Leave room for dessert, even if you are certain you cannot.

Luxury, after all, should never feel rushed.

Come for dinner. Stay for the details.

Knife Italian

The dining room balances old-school glamour with a fresh, colorful edge. Rich woods meet vivid fabrics. Candlelight softens the room. Thoughtful design gives nearly every seat a sense of occasion.

Even the private spaces have personality.

Sip a craft cocktail in jewel-toned Bar Amaro before dining in the adjoining Coltello room. Gather around the table in the intimate Wine Room, with its view of the restaurant’s hand-selected collection. Or make the evening more interactive in the Pizza Kitchen, which can host cooking classes, mixology demonstrations and private celebrations.

It is sophisticated without feeling stiff. Exclusive without feeling inaccessible.

In other words, exactly the kind of luxury Las Colinas does best.

Make a night of it

The most indulgent part of dinner at Knife Italian Steak may be what comes afterward.

No drive home. No need to watch the clock. Just an elevator ride to a guest room at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas.

Turn dinner into a full Irving escape with a spa treatment, a quiet morning overlooking the resort grounds or breakfast back at Knife Italian Steak. The restaurant’s café menu adds Italian inspiration to classic morning favorites, making it tempting to begin the next day exactly where the previous evening ended.

Beyond the resort, the energy of Las Colinas is close at hand. Take a romantic walk along the Mandalay Canal, catch a performance at Toyota Music Factory or enjoy cocktails beside Lake Carolyn.

But first, dinner.
