Gilley’s has a rich history in Texas; its namesake Texas Country music legend Mickey Gilley, who also operated a famous honky-tonk by the same name in Pasadena, TX. The original Gilley’s is featured in the 80’s movie Urban Cowboy as the place where John Travolta’s character Bud struggles to win and keep the heart of Sissy (played by Debra Winger).
Gilley's in Dallas opened in 2003 with 26,000 square feet of main show room and the original bull, El Toro, featured in "The Urban Cowboy". In addition to music, Gilley’s Dallas is host to hundreds of Dallas’ largest and most prestigious events each year. More than just a honky-tonk, Gilley’s Dallas is a world-class entertainment complex with 4 music venues, 3 unique private party spaces and The Jack Daniel’s Saloon. Host to an event nearly every night of the year, and often several different events at once, Gilley’s Dallas is DFW’s most versatile event space.
