Each month we're bringing you a new set of restaurants loved and dined at by foodie lover and Irvingite, Mark Mckee. Check out Part 1 of this locally loved food series.

If you want to join Mark and his foodie friends, head to the Taste of Irving Facebook group. It's where all the locals hang and share the best places to eat around town.

Be like Mark and explore Irving's food scene! Plus, don't forget to abide by his favorite saying, "Be good, eat well and have fun, my friends!"

Di Leo Pizza

8251 N Belt Line Rd | ((972) 929-5084
Di Leo Pizza

We had to call an audible tonight, a rare Monday night delivery. Di Leo Pizza came to our rescue! And quickly, might I add. I ordered a large double-pepperoni and chicken fettuccine alfredo and it arrived about 25mins later. Incredible!

Located on North Belt Line by Regent, they offer some of the largest NY-style pies in town; this large is measuring just over 18 inches in diameter!

Hit them up if you get a chance! They are a small, family-owned business and offer delivery, pick up and curbside services.

I'd be remiss if I didn't let folks know that their wings are spot on, perfect heat and bite. Some of the finest in town! 🍗

Southern Recipe

Southern Recipe rocks! I love dives, I thrive on small businesses and hole-in-the-wall eats.

Southern Recipe makes one of the best, if not the best breakfasts in town.

*pictured is the southern omelet, not to be confused with the country omelet. 🍳

At a recent visit, I happened to eavesdrop on the couple behind me, the fella clearly had just picked up a friend from the airport.

"This is the best unknown place in Irving, no one comes here! Look, this is the busiest I've ever seen them and I come here every week".

Wow! Ok, so we have a local sharing the greatness of this lil mom n' pop. Now I'm in good hands.

Whether I'm solo or with friends, this place is like an onion, you have to peel off the first two layers.

Btw, they have the BEST skillet potatoes in town, hands down. Quote me on that.

Space Burger

2813 N MacArthur Blvd | (972) 258-7879

Space Burger

Back at it after a year or more, Space Burger produces a punch that's "outta this world".

Celebrating their 1 year anniversary under new ownership, Randy Lemerand and his crew are serving up perhaps the best burger in town.

Many of you may remember Randy from his fame at The Spirit Grille, where he was a familiar figure for the last decade or more.

Well, my friends, he bought the place and they are serving up fresh, made-to-order greatness!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Breakfast Burger with thick-cut hardwood bacon and a fried egg, while my wife indulged in the Mushroom and Swiss Burger.

The buttery brioche bun is incredibly soft and the burger is so tender, you'll want to stock up on napkins, trust me. In this experience, if you come out clean, you are doing it wrong. 🙌

The hype is real and I promise you, I will not wait a year to return, as they will have our business going forward.

Cheers to Randy and family, you have mastered the burger and Irving is fortunate to have you here!
