Sanjh Restaurant & Bar

We can't believe that we get to say this often, but: Another amazing new restaurant is thriving in Irving! 'What more could be added to the beautiful tapestry that is the Irving food scene?', you might ask, because we seem to have it all. But Sanjh Restaurant & Bar is already making their mark as they aim to serve what they like to call creative Indian cuisine.

Sanjh

Opened in January 2024, Sanjh Restaurant & Bar marries the richness of traditional Indian flavors to the sophistication of classic European cuisine. Fusion, though, is not the name of the game, as you won't find a Chicken Tikka  Sandwich here. What you will find at this upscale, two-story restaurant are Indian dishes made with recipes that have been passed down for generations, reimagined with the world-renowned French gastronomy techniques.

Under the leadership of Chef Balpreet Singh Chadha, the Sanjh kitchen was purposefully designed with an open concept so that guests can savor the texture, colors, and smell of the dishes way before they even take a bite. Having worked at top hotels and restaurants around Europe and Asia, Chef Chadha decided to move to Irving straight from India to make Sanjh Restaurant & Bar a reality.

We love the abundance of vegetarian and vegan options in every meal category, from appetizers to desserts, to balance out all the spices, cream, and butter. Their Dahi Puri, which is yogurt foam served with puffed rice spheres, go great with their wide array of cocktail, wine, and mocktail selection. If you love cheese and herbs, go with Bharwan Paneer Tikka, a mixture of paneer cheese, nuts, spices, and cream.

When it comes to libations, Sanjh Restaurant & Bar takes pride in cleverly fusing Indian spices with mixology trends like using cocktail smoker tubes for a glass of Old Fashioned. It makes for a great social media content opp and a fun experience for the whole table! If you love tequila, Chaat is a great cocktail to try, which features housemade Chaat Masala syrup and coriander foam on top!

If you also want a little smoke show with your dining experience, their Tandoori Cornish Hen comes on a mini grill that keeps the chicken smoky for at least thirty minutes after it is served. They are served with delicious Makhani sauce and chewy garlic naan that ties the whole dish together so beautifully!

For dessert, traditional sweet treat Rasmalai  is the star, with flavors of pistachio cake, sweetened cheese, and white chocolate mousse topped with an edible candle. Almost too pretty to eat, this dish comes with edible flowers and gold flakes as well, making it one of the most photographed items on the menu.

If you are looking to make reservations, keep in mind that dinner time is almost consistently booked here at Sanjh. Opt for a quieter, laid-back experience by visiting during lunch hours and enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Carolyn as a bonus!

"Acceptance of different cultures is key to growth in a community, and Irving is doing a great job maintaining that," Chef Chadha said as he went down the list of reasons why he loved calling Irving home. We couldn't agree more! With more residents and visitors bringing in their unique perspectives and experiences to Irving, we know that we are better as a destination because of it. Our food scene certainly reflects it!
